2d3 Sensing - generating intelligence from imagery

2d3 Sensing develop and deliver technology built on unrivalled vision science expertise. We can extract information using nothing more than images alone and create, recreate, manipulate, combine, and enhance to bridge the space between the second and the third dimensions.  It is our mission to provide commercial-off-the-shelf, computer vision software and solutions for imagery and related metadata acquisition, processing, and dissemination, while conforming to and influencing emerging standards.

Since 1999, 2d3 has supplied a range of computer vision products, all based on "3D from the moving image", mainly to the film and television production industries. The company's original product, boujou, the world's leading automatic camera tracker, is now used by most film and video post-production companies to generate visual effects requiring accurate registration of real and virtual images. boujou became a member of the Vicon product range in March 2009, after winning an Emmy Award for Technical Achievement.  Vicon is a sister company of 2d3.

In 2006, 2d3 established the Advanced Imaging Group to adapt our technology for use in aerial imaging applications.  2d3 has developed a set of products covering a wide range of real-time and off-line computer vision capabilities for processing of aerial motion imagery. These products, designed from the ground up for analyzing and processing motion imagery, have generated widespread acclaim at international industry venues, including Farnborough International Airshow, DoDIIS, GeoINT, and AUVSI. As a result, 2d3 has won contracts from key agencies and contractors in the US and the UK, including the UK MoD, the US GSA, UK FATS4, the US Army, the US Navy and the US DTRA, with many more in prospect.

In 2011, 2d3 acquired Sensing Systems of San Mateo, CA, which had developed and fielded a motion imagery software development media toolkit called Tungsten.  The resulting combined entity, 2d3 Sensing, offers a complete spectrum of software technology for the management, enhancement, exploitation, and dissemination of imagery and metadata.

2d3 Sensing is a wholly-owned subsidiary of OMG plc, a company with an over 25-year history of developing, manufacturing, and selling products for 3-dimensional tracking in medical, industrial, government, and defense markets. OMG exports over 80% of its sales with customers in over 50 countries. Since 2001, OMG has been listed on the London Stock Exchange and today employs over 200 people in UK and US.
